View to the Cheviots from Thrunton Woods

This view of the Cheviots from Thrunton Woods was painted from a photograph which I took. I chose to make it portrait to emphasise our gorgeous Northumbrian skies.

I was also trying to paint in a much looser style and I'm pleased with the softness which comes across in this painting.
